You know, you are flipping thru the pages of the latest shelter magazine, see a house designed completely different from your own, and think "I've got to completely re-do my house!"
This is what we at Mix call an "identity crisis."
(And yes, it happens to us monthly, or weekly, ok- daily.)
And it happened this morning when we got an e-mail from Lee Jofa announcing the
Lily Pulitzer Collection!
Suddenly, we want to move down to sunny Palm Beach, purchase a fabulous retro-chic house and infuse it with color and pattern, chintz!, lacquered bamboo, wallpaper in every room, and layout poolside on the terrace under umbrellas drinking ice-cold mint mojitos!
We were so excited when the Jekyll Island Authority called us to help design the transformation of the oceanfront restaurant "Blackbeards" to "Fins." The idea was to lighten up the space and create a casual dining atmosphere for this great oceanfront spot! We had a great time working with the JIA in selecting colors for the logo, server uniforms, and overall design of the restaurant.
Here are a few "Before" shots:
(Blue walls, Mirrored backsplash, Palm Leaf Fans with Light Kits,
and Glasses hanging from Soffit over the Bar)
The blue wash on the walls was pretty... but we wanted brighter (of course!)
Fun New Logo
Great new bar backsplash of Re-claimed wood from our friends over at Face to Face Framing who helped us complete our vision... LOVED working together!
The reclaimed wood gave the bar the coastal vibe we were going for... LOVE it.
Entry Vestibule to Dining Room
The final product... bright and cheery Dining Room!
So, if you don't have plans for the weekend, head on over to Fins for great food and cocktails
Hello everyone! I know you think we've fallen off the face of the earth...
