Ooooo La La.... Janet Porcher Gregg Jewelry Trunk Show!

We are just counting down the minutes until our trunk show
with the oh-so-fabulous Janet Porcher Gregg!

You have got to drop by and see Janet's jewels... the perfect opportunity to get a jump-start on your Christmas shopping, and to treat yourself!
Janet herself is just amazing, and we can't wait to see what all she will be bringing!

We first fell in love with Janet when her house was featured in Cottage Living.
Janet's Living Room

The fabulous designer herself arranging a fabulous bouquet in her dining room

Love this shot of the console in Janet's Master Bedroom!
Space is limited in Janet's Charleston cottage, so she is clever with her storage-
notice the pretty scarves folded on the smaller table
and the basket trunk to hide other unsightly goods!
Janet admits to having a "chair fetish"- and we love her pair of bamboo ones!

Can you believe how amazingly talented she is in every arena?

Check back with us tomorrow when we feauture some
of our favorite pieces from her jewelry collection!

Favorite Things!

On Fridays we'll be featuring a few of our favorite things!

What does every room need a touch of?
What looks fabulous with any and every color of the rainbow?
What is so classic and timeless that you'll find it in interiors
from the Ming Dynasty to present?
Why it's one of our very favorite things... Blue and White Porcelain!

Carolyne Roehm notes in her book A Passion for Blue and White (one of our favorites!) that "Living with blue and white does not mean every surface has to be painted or draped in the combination. How you use these shades depends on the room: Find the blue that works with the space and establish a balance so the color isn't overpowering."
One thing's for sure- it will definitely make a statement!

The more Blue and White the better... blue and white porcelain urns at home in a blue/white lattice wallpapered room... we love this room designed by Meg Braff!

In the same room: a Blue and White porcelain lamp and
a Blue and White vase full of Ranunculas!
(One of our favorite flowers!)
Love the cup of bamboo pens too!

Blue and White Porcelain adorns the walls of this room designed by David Easton.
(Oh how we LOVE Blue and White on the walls!!)

Blue and White with Pink Walls?!
(Now that really makes our hearts sing!!)

Entertaining is oh-so-stylish when serving with Blue and White china
as Oscar de La Renta does.

Bunny Williams accessorized with Blue and White
in her vacation home.

Blue and White was the inspiration for Bethany's wedding weekend,
as seen in these last 2 photos, taken at the Rehearsal Dinner.
(Photos by our enormously talented wedding-photographer, Alan Weiner. Floral Arrangements by The Vine.)

Life's too short not to surround yourself with your favorite things!
So let's hear it... what are your favorite things??
xoxo

.... and we're baaacckkk!

Fall is in the air here on the island, and we're having so much fun enjoying all that fall brings... colder weather, big pots of chili during football games, fall fashion... and the organization bug. Does that happen at your house? With the change in seasons brings a desire to change everything up- so the Mix girls are organizing and clearing the studio out for fun new things! Stop by and see us.

A few other fun new things we've enjoyed since fall began-

Bethany got a new last name... Bethany Cassell Vann

Group Shot in front of Brack Chapel

A fun new kind of project... Crabdaddy's Restaurant!
The Mix girls were thrilled to help Josh at Crabdaddys's with a few finishing touches to their newly paneled dining room. After adding wood panelling to all of the walls, acoustics became a problem, and Josh called us. Our solution: Burlap wrapped acoustical panels. We added the large brass nailheads and hung fun new hurricanes and some existing black and white photographs. Such a fun project!

A fun new line of fabrics... Thatchers' Fine Timeless Fabric... that actually reminds us a little more of spring than fall, but we love them all the same! One of our fave and most fabulous sales reps... Roe Pitts of Roe & Co. introduced us to this fabulous line of chintz patterns and it sent us over the moon we were so happy! You must check them out: www.thatchersfinetimelessfabric.com

So cheers to fall!
xoxo

Sneak Peek!

We are just so excited about a recent tile installation, that we had to share...
even though the home is still a construction zone and the pix were taken on our I-phones.
Our friend David Webster @ Floors of Distinction introduced us to this tile, and we immediately fell in love... we were thrilled when our client felt the same way!

The Kitchen

The Master Bath
The floors are just to die for!

Guest Bath Wainscot
Just Beautiful!

This project has been so much fun... our client is downsizing to a small townhouse, and we've enjoyed working with them on every detail!

You just have to take a look at the view from their screened porch to understand the move!

A drink ledge on the screened porch is perfect for cocktails at sunset!

And this dutch door to the kitchen is so fun!

We really are excited about "In the Mix"... and have been before Mix even opened its doors... we're both self-confessed blog-lovers- read a variety of blogs each morning in PJs with coffee...but wow, we did not realize the time and energy it takes to keep a blog up! Kudos to all of the regular bloggers out there! The past few months have been a little busy with an engagement (Bethany) and a new baby girl (Adrian), but now we're back in action and ready to get this blog going! To start off on a fun note, we'd like to share with you our most fun recent project... designing a playhouse for the Children's Volunteer Network auction in Rosemary Beach, Florida! We were absolutely thrilled when Chad at Harrison Design Associates invited us to join them along with ChiMar Construction of the Gulf Coast and The Vine on Saint Simons to collaborate on a playhouse for CVHN to auction off for charity... 100% of proceeds went to CVHN! And we are even more thrilled to announce that the playhouse sold for $5,800.00... raising the most money of all the playhouses!

We had a great time working on the playhouse and want to send a big thank you to all of our vendors who so generously donated: Oopsy Daisy Artwork for Kids, Steve Schoettle of Apex Industries, Paul and Cathy Hegeman of Empire Drapery Company, Mainly Baskets and Robin Clarke of Southern Accessories Today, The Eclectic Cottage on Saint Simons, The Strand on Saint Simons, Josie Kennedy the Artist, Rod Yoder of Yoder's Custom Trimworks, Lacefield Designs and Gary Routman of J. Douglas... and also to my soon-to-be mother-in-law Kay Vann who made the trip down with me to join the team in working!
